1. Horizontal or vertical?
Aspect ratio
Use Horizontal content for landscape screen ja vertical content for portrait screen.
Use the same aspect ratio with the content and display so that the content wont't get distorted.
Common aspect ratios:
Lanscape 16:9
Portrait 9:16
Resolution
Most of the digital signage screen has full hd resolution:
Landscape 1920x1080 px
Portrait 1080x1920 px
Full HD resolution should also be preferred for all content.

Share long messages into multiple slides and content
Tell your message in four words instead of eight
Prefer large images
Feel free to use colors and contrasts
About fonts:
Use a large font size, for example a 20-30 pt font can be viewed from about 2-3 m away, a 100 pt font can be viewed from another 7-8 m away
Prefer a clear sans serif font without shading or stylization. Good fonts include Arial, Verdana and Helvetica
