All FirstView screens can be divided into up to three different screen areas, with each area acting as an independent screen.
Open to the displays tab, open display settings and screen areas.
By default, the screen has one screen area that corresponds to the entire screen size (area 1)
Landscape displays = 1920 x 1080
Vertical displays = 1080 x 1920
Note: LED boards and other special displays may differ from this .
1. Start by editing area 1
First edit the entire existing area from the area 1 tab
In the example, the horizontal screen is divided into two equal parts
Name the area clearly
Specify the size and location of the area in pixels
X = screen width axis
Y = screen height axis
2. Add a new area
Name the area
Edit the size and position of the area on the entire screen
Finally, save the changes
3. Ready screen area layout
Once the screen areas are ready, you can link separate playlists to the areas, allowing each area to operate independently.
We do not recommend using multiple areas on small screens as it can make it difficult to understand the content.
Plan your screen areas and content carefully! On a split screen, it's a good idea to keep some of the content fairly static so that the content
doesn't become an information overload and viewers have time to digest your message.
Name the different areas clearly to make it easy to connect playlists to the correct area
Do not exceed the total screen area
Please note that the content and screen area must have same aspect ratio, so that the content is not distorted and appears correctly on the screen.
PiCube and SoC media players can only play videos in area 1. Read more about identifying your media player type here »
You can also implement screen areas in layers if you want to add other content to the background.
It's always a good idea to consider is splitting the screen necessary. If possible, divide messages into multiple sections so you can rotate them alternately across the entire screen, which will make your message visible from a distance.
